Andy’s Dance Safari

Andy’s Dance Safari aims to introduce children to a variety of dance styles and rhythms from around the world in a fun, supportive environment. Through playful movement, imaginative themes, and interactive music, children will develop coordination, balance, self-confidence, and an appreciation for diverse cultures and sounds. The ultimate goal is to spark a lifelong love of dance and creative expression.

The Rhythmic Explorers Dance Class for children aged 6 to 9 introduces a variety of dance genres, including hip-hop, salsa, jazz, and contemporary. This program focuses on teaching fun, engaging dance routines while helping kids develop technique, rhythm, and body awareness. The class is designed to challenge this age group with more complex movements and foster a sense of accomplishment and confidence.

CLASS STRUCTURE:

  1. Warm-Up and Stretching (5 minutes)

  2. Dynamic stretching and warm-up exercises to energize the body.

  3. Dance Technique and Practice (20 minutes)

  4. Step-by-step teaching of a dance routine that incorporates different styles. Movements may include basic hip-hop steps, salsa footwork, and jazz-inspired sequences.

  5. Dance Challenges and Games (10 minutes)

  6. Fun activities like “Dance Battles” or “Copycat” to build teamwork and rhythm skills.

  7. Freestyle Session (5 minutes)

  8. Kids can showcase their creativity by improvising dance moves to various beats.

  9. Cool Down and Reflection (5 minutes)

  10. Gentle stretches and a brief discussion to share what they enjoyed most about the class.

Zumba Class

Our Little Movers Dance Class for children aged 3 to 5 is designed to introduce young dancers to the joy of movement and rhythm. This program features a mix of fun, age-appropriate dance routines incorporating various styles such as salsa, hip-hop, and jazz. With an emphasis on creative movement, children will explore basic dance techniques while having fun and developing their coordination and social skills.

CLASS STRUCTURE:

  1. Welcome Circle and Warm-Up (5 minutes)

    • Fun introduction song and light stretching.

  2. Basic Dance Routine (15 minutes)

    • Simple, interactive dance moves set to lively music with easy-to-follow instructions.

  3. Rhythm and Movement Games (10 minutes)

    • Activities like “Follow the Leader” and “Dance Freeze” to build rhythm awareness.

  4. Dance Exploration (10 minutes)

    • Children are encouraged to express themselves with free dance to various styles of music, guided by Andy’s playful prompts.

  5. Cool Down and Closing (5 minutes)

    • Gentle stretching and a goodbye song to end the class.
